I gave this ab product four stars (see below for the reason it didn’t get five) because I think it is a great product that will work for anybody.  It is easy to understand and follow and there are various difficulty levels so there is something for everyone, regardless of current physical condition.  More importantly, the author sticks to the core principles of fitness that I believe in.  There is no hype in this book, just solid principles.  If you follow this book, you are going to get six pack abs.  You’ve run out of excuses.

The Truth About Six Pack Abs was created by Mike Geary.  Mike is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer who specializes in body fat reduction strategies and functional strength and power training.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA.  Mike really knows his stuff.  He has the education and experience to know what he is talking about.  When you read his book, you can tell that he isn’t just some fly-by-night internet “guru” out to make a buck off the unsuspecting and desperate.  I give Mike five stars for knowledge.

Update: Since writing this review, The Truth About Six Pack Abs program has been released in video format. You can read more about the different The Truth About Six Pack Abs packages in my post titled The Truth About Six Pack Abs Packages. You can get the videos by clicking here.

I think the content in this book is great.  As I read the book, I found myself constantly in agreement with the author.  The book starts with a discussion about diet.  Mike Geary believes that the best way to create a permanent dietary change in someone is to educate them on the effects that certain foods have on your body.  Consequently, a large portion of the book focuses on that goal.  If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, skim through that part; but I would recommend giving it a through read.  After you get through this part, there is a section that gives you over 80 different meal ideas.  It makes it really simple to follow.

The rest of the book is focused on exercise.  This is where the book may diverge a little from what you may be expecting.  With a title like The Truth About Six Pack Abs, you may be expecting a book full of ab exercises.  If so, you would be wrong.  While there are several abdominal exercises in the workout routines, they are not the main focus.  Instead, you will concentrate on full body multi-joint exercises that are designed to burn fat to allow the six pack abs that you will be developing to show through.

Overall, I would say that the content of this book is just about a perfect mix of diet and exercise.  If you follow its advice, you can’t go wrong.  If I had to say something negative about the book, it would be that it is a little on the long side.  However, I found it interesting so I didn’t mind the read.  If you don’t like reading, suck it up and get through it.  Your body will thank you.  I give this book five stars for content.

Skill Level

Another great thing about this book is how it caters to people at a variety of physical fitness levels.  You can start where ever your current physical condition allows and then build from there.  As you progress, the book tells you how to move to the next level.  In addition, if you are not ready to make the commitment of joining a gym, there is a program for in-home exercises.  There truly is something for everyone here and for that I give it five stars for skill level.

The price for this ab program is very reasonable.  It is currently priced at $39.95 which is relatively cheap compared to some of the other abdominal programs out there.  That may seem like a lot to some of you, but I guarantee you that it is worth the money.  If you aren’t willing to invest forty bucks to get a healthy body and the best six pack abs of your life, then you probably aren’t the type of person that will have the personal motivation to actually follow the program anyway.

If you think you are motivated enough to follow the program but you are still unsure of the investment, you have the option to take a 21 day trial offer.  The trial offer costs $4.95 which, if you decide to keep the program, will be applied toward the full price of the program.  You can’t get much better than that.

The Truth About Six Pack Abs program comes with a 60 day money back guarantee.  I was pleased with the contents of the program so I did not return it and therefore cannot comment on that process.  However, 60 days is plenty of time to try out the program and to start seeing results.  With the price being so low and the money back guarantee, there really is no reason not to give this program a try.

Purchasing Process

I had no problem purchasing my copy of the book.  All you have to do is go to the Truth About Six Pack Abs website and follow the links to the checkout page.  Payment is made through a well known and trusted vendor, so you don’t even have to trust the Truth About Six Pack Abs website.  All major credit cards are accepted or you can pay through PayPal.  I opted to pay with a credit card and had no trouble.  I have also used PayPal a lot and have never had any trouble with them so I wouldn’t hesitate to use them either.  You also have the added security of a 60 money back guarantee.  I give the purchasing process five stars.

I don’t really have a lot of negatives, but there are a couple of things I want to mention.

The first one was already mentioned above and that is the length of the book.  It is 142 pages long, which isn’t terrible, but it was a little longer than what I wanted.  This is really a minor complaint and I didn’t even take any stars away from my rating for this.

Update: Since writing this review, The Truth About Six Pack Abs program has been released in video format. You can get the videos by clicking here.

The second complaint that I have is more of a suggestion than a complaint.  I think there should be some videos to go along with the book.  There are pictures in the book that illustrate how to do all of the exercises, but I would also like to have videos.  The pictures show the starting position, the midpoint, and the finishing position of each exercise.  This is really helpful, but I think it would be easier to really learn how to do the exercises if you could watch a video.  This is the main reason that I did not give an overall rating of five starts for this ab program.  This is, in no way, a reason not to buy this program.  It is just a way to make it better.
