Flat StomachIt’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t want a flat stomach. Our fast paced lifestyles make it difficult for most of us to get and keep a nice lean and fit body. We are now to the point that most people are over weight and looking for a way to lose belly fat, and they want to get that flat stomach fast. However, most people didn’t get their belly fat fast and aren’t going to lose belly fat fast either.

The reason that most people struggle to ever get to that coveted flat stomach is they have unreasonable expectations about how long it should take to lose their stomach fat. That flat stomach is there, you just have to get to it. Unfortunately, belly fat can be some of the hardest fat to lose.

Your abdominal region is a delicate area. There are a lot of internal organs in this area and they need to be protected. This is why your body tries so hard to keep your belly fat, it helps protect your abdomen. They don’t call it stubborn belly fat for nothing.

I’m not trying to discourage you or make you give up before you even start. I just think it is important to understand that you are going to have to work hard to break through all that belly fat if you want to reveal that nice flat stomach. It’s not impossible. It’s not even all that hard. It just takes hard work, discipline and knowing how to do it.

So, how do you get a flat stomach?

Exercises For A Flat Stomach

You’re going to have to exercise if you want to lose your belly fat. There’s just no way around it. Not all exercise is created equal though, so you need to do the right things. The best way to work with your body to naturally burn fat is to lift weights, and you need to lift heavy weights. If you are doing 15, 20 or 30 reps, you may as well just go home. You need to be in the 6-10 rep range. You want heavy weights and high intensity to get the best metabolic effects out of your weight lifting routine.

Cardio To Lose Belly Fat

So many people think they need to run on the treadmill for hours on end if they want to burn fat. It’s a waste of time. Instead, do some sprints. You’ll get better results in much less time. After your sprints, finish up with some steady state cardio. The sprints will help release fatty acids and then the steady state cardio can more readily burn them off. This combination can be far more effective than just steady state cardio alone.

Get On A Belly Fat Diet

If you want to lose your belly fat and keep it off, you need to make sure you have a healthy diet. If you are eating too many fat and carbohydrate calories, you are going to have trouble getting a flat stomach. On the other hand, proteins can help you in your battle. Don’t get carried away though. Try to keep your protein consumption around 1.5 grams per pound of body weight. The rest of your calories can come from carbohydrates (mainly around your workout times) and fat (other times).

Show Off Your Flat Stomach

As long as you set reasonable goals and stick with your plan, you’ll be showing off that six pack in no time. Remember, it’s not hard; it just takes hard work.
